The Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program supports undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines — including cybersecurity — with full scholarships, a stipend, summer internships, and guaranteed employment at a Department facility upon graduation. SMART bridges academic research and Department mission by building a pipeline of technically skilled professionals ready to contribute to national security.
